Electric instrument fans...?

I play the cello and want to amplify it. is there anything the will hook onto my cello ( sort of like one of those fancy tuners that hook onto the bridge and pick up vibrations) wirelessly and plug into an amp? my friend had one of those tuners that can plaug into an amp and his violin is "electrified" but the wire is only like a foot long...help please!!! even if you know of one that has a wire a few feet long. and where can i find one? thanks
