Am i right or wrong? PLZ HELP...?

i have been best friends/ lovers ( im not really quite sure what we started out as) with this guy for a little over a year. i have always taken care of him financially and any other way you could imagine. we have had issues lately and are now just friends and i told him if he couldnt get a job and needed me to keep supporting him i would but my only request is that he doesnt sleep with other girls while im out making money to pay the bills. am i wrong for asking this of him? i love him a lot and know he is not stable mentally (he is bipolar and severly paranoid). i just feel like if im goin to take care of him he should respect that.
