If they had waited until next year to do this the figure would very well have been higher than the 8.8 million. Sid knows what he is worth and he knows he could be getting more but to be able to have direct access to one of the greatest players in history and have a team with some cap space available each year after the increases it just works out. He also knows that he will have plenty of $$ coming in from endorsements as well. He will earn his money and his team can keep him surrounded with talent for the next several years.
